Hard choice for me to choose amongst all these dope pics but I tried my best, but thank you for participating, which is the most important part, and see you next year!
No real intro needed, hate or love it, just my $.02 in the ocean of $$$.
10. CJ81 Trainer Max.
Once in a while you come across that one shoe that you know you have to try on, and pretty much get hooked on right after, CJ81 was that shoe for me this year; lightweight, comfortable, well-priced and the colorways are quite awesome. Haven’t seen a Nike football shoe like that in a long time… but I’m glad Megatron and Nike hit one out of the park, patiently waiting on next year’s model as well.
9. LeBron X EXT “Cork”
Nothing says celebration like a bottle of champagne. What else do I need to say about this shoe, waited a couple hours in the rain outside an Atlanta store ONLY NOT to get them was a story on it’s own, but the hype was crazy but well deserved. Not really a shoe that you would walk/run in all day, but definitely something different to wear. Not to mention it really kindled the EXT movement for Nike, of which we will see more and more in the next few years.
8. RF Asics Gel Lyte III “ECP”
The shoes are definitely nice, but I personally think the whole collection and the whole pop up shop idea really propelled Ronnie and Kith Set to the front of the “collab” pack. The material and the colorways are expected, but the whole collection with the socks, hats, towels and being a two city release, including a POP-UP shop in Miami was something new to the general “Nike/Jordan” crowd.
7. Zoom Kobe 8 System “Mambacurial”
The “what-if” shoe of the year that actually happened. Taking Kobe’s Italian background and the soccer cleat, fuse it with the already dope ZK8, a good frankenstein shoe that people will talk about for the next couple of years.
6. Reebok Classic “Shaq Attaq”
REEBOK BACK. The release day twitter scene was just as crazy as a Nikestore Saturday morning.
5. Barkley Posite Max “Area 72″
The best shoe out of the ASG pack this year, still crazy over the shoe, the colors, material, the details. Nike killed the model but this shoe will live on as one of the most memorable all-star shoes ever.
4. Air Zoom Flight “the Glove”
3. Adidas ZX 5000 x Undefeated x bape
Collab of the year, impeccable, quality is 100% on point, didn’t expect anything less.
2. Air Jordan V “DB”
The internet was in shambles when this shoe dropped, restocked, restocked and then restocked. What a crazy shoe with some great meanings behind it, not saying the other DB designs are bad, but these just took the spotlight . Probably not the most comfortable shoe out there, but I gotta break out my pair soon.
1. Air Jordan 1 “Royal”
Whether you have waited 12 years for the retro or just been dormant on this shoe since 2007-08, this shoe is the shoe of the year, stole the thunder from all the all-star shoes, many are still hunting… Good luck!
